Super weather today for the Narrow River Race. We rescheduled the race from April 4 our usual date. We had 14 paddlers, all trying to recover from the ROTC last Sunday. I think most every one had good races with Jan Lupinski recording another win going away over 2nd place finisher Greg Lesher. Chris Chappell led the race going hard for a mile or so until Jan caught Chris and they opened up a gap on the field before the 3 mile buoy turn. Eric Costanzo was in fourth for the entire race but made up a big gap on Chris for a sprint for the last mile with Chris edging Eric out. Greg, a slow starter got it wound up and placed 2nd. Bruce Deltorchio and Tim Dwyer replayed this same scenerio as Chris/Eric with Bruce edging out Tim by a second. Tim H paddling most of the race alone was only 40 seconds back. Under the weather, I was in the mix until mile 3 with Tim H trying to help me but by mile 6 I was done and pulled out.  It was a great day to be paddling. Essex is next, then my race the 12 mile Sakonnet Race. Thanks to everyone for making the trek down! Greg will have the results up on the SurfskiRacing.com Series page sponsored by Stellar Kayaks and Surfskis (the most complete line of composite kayaks/surf skis in the world from rec to performance kayaks, to  K1’s and k2’s, to surfskis to para trainers). Stellar has a boat for every paddler, novice to elite. The top 3 paddlers in the series will win prizes, cash or both.
