This is an update to this post(December 23, 2013). Below is pic of one of my demo carbon skis that had a hair line crack in the seam. I had a piece of tape over it all year that was water tight, but decided to have it fixed in the off season by Sean. A few more steps to go before finished product but I wanted you to see one of the steps in the repair.
Below are some pics of before and after of Tim H.’s SES advantage(fiberglass) that Sean repaired for him. Tim hit a submerged rock and damaged the hull. Sean Horrigan(repair specialist) chose to repair with carbon fiber vice glass thus increasing the stiffness in the most vunerable area of the surf ski. Sean’s work is excellent and he lives only a few miles from my house in Portsmouth. It is hard to find repair shops that will do small jobs like this but Sean does it all.

This past summer I met Brian Sharpe, a professional sailor who found me via this website. Brian at 6ft 5, 230lbs found his very used V10 too tight for him. I hooked him up with Chris Chappell who had a prototype Stellar SE that had a slightly wider seat than the production SE’s. Chris sold Brian the SE and then Brian had a friend, Sean Horrigan, refurbish the severely sun damaged V10 (South African built). So when I bought a used kevlar Evo that was water tight but had several scrapes and one soft spot, I knew who to call. The great thing was that Sean’s shop is only 5 minutes from my house. Sean has been refurbishing sailing boats and power boats for years, and often has minor jobs like designing paddle boards, or even fixing surf skis or paddles. Sean also repainted local paddler Razz’s Mako. Below is the pic of the freshly painted Evo. I had Sean paint the tips of my white SES excel just to give it some pop! Both came out super. Sean also painted and reinforced one of my Onno paddles. So if you need some repair work done give Sean a call at 401-742-4196, or email him: s_horrigan@yahoo.com. His shop is in Portsmouth, RI.
